Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. rights to Havana Darkness - the first English language thriller shot in Cuba.
Havana Darkness is a Bulgarian – U.S. co-production between Open Frames and Golden Ceiba. It has been filmed on locations in New York and Havana and directed by the Mexican filmmaker Guillermo Ivan, who also stars in the film.
The story is by Ivan, Loris Curci, and Magarditch Halvadjian; and Barry Keating penned the screenplay. Starring Carolina Ravassa, Jack Dimich, and Zach Rose with Ivan, Curci, Hannah D. Scott, Zair Montes, Jorge Luis de Cabo, and Esteban Leon in supporting roles. Interesting fact about the leading actress Carolina Ravassa is that she is well-known for her voice of Sombra in the popular game ‘Overwatch”.
Recently, on August 10, the film also had its World Premiere on the big screen during Popcorn Frights Film Festival 2018 at the historic Savor Cinema in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
